Ellen to the best of my knowledge ISP's and other POP3 mail servers that use some kind of SPAM filter or other mail blocking program will automatically send you a return message to tell you that your e-mail was "undeliverable" (and state the reason). In addition, if a person is using Outlook Express as their e-mail client and has added your address to their "blocked senders" list your e-mail to them will be returned with a message telling you that they will not accept mail from your address..... I do not know what the web-based e-mail providers do, as I never use anything but POP3....
